Bermscape
Bermscape is an attempt at reintroducing experiences had in natural landscapes into an urban setting. The site, located adjacent to the Unilever’s newly renovated head office, a multinational consumer goods manufacturer, was originally intended to be used as a parking space. The clients brief challenged the design team to create a setting that would temporarily transport office staff away from the banalities of the corporate workplace, to reinvigorate their minds. Organic forms intend to promote interactions had in fields of rolling hills.
Computational Design & Fabrication Techniques (paramteric scripting and CNC cutting) were employed to bring life to the concept of a Bermscape. Prototyping allowed the team to better understand the assembly of the different components at play. An extensive construction drawing set was put together to organize the on-site installation teams, and to get them comfortable with the complexity of the build.
